Feeding: Techniques (part 2)

There are three main ways of feeding, those being physical, tendril, and breathing.

In physical feeding, touching your source is clearly required. You pull the energy into yourself through physical contact. It can be as simple as a hug or handshake, or as intense and intimate as sex. In a way eye contact is considered contact feeding. Like that awkward moment when you're in Walmart and you make eye contact with someone by accident, you feel either violated or like you were the invader. That's because eye contact makes a link between two people, and it is through a link a psyvamp feeds. Just being the dominant one when contact feeding should be enough.
Tendril feeding is the most commonly used method. Tendrils are extentions of the aura, think of an octopus if you'd like a comparison. There isn't certain number we have, I think it varies by person. With tendrils you penetrate the aura of whatever you intend to feed from and pull the energy into yourself. Almost like a straw.
For beginners: When you tendril feed try visualizing your aura and the person you're feeding from's aura as well. Don't imagine it just feel your "personal bubble" and extend a part of it with your mind to their "bubble", then pull it towards you and into you. Try inhaling the energy through your mouth once it's in your bubble, that helps. It might take some practice. Don't feel too discouraged if it doesn't seem to work, some psyvamps can't feed via tendrils and you may be one of them. Also strength comes with practice, even basic energywork doesn't come to you overnight.
Feeding by breathing is very simple: If you're close enough to a person to where your aura bubbles are overlapping, or if you're in theirs (easiest), you can simply inhale it. It might not get you much but heck it's better than nothing and doesn't take much effort.

Also there are three general levels of feeding.
Astral feeding is just feeding on the stray prana floating around that people naturally give off. If you're at a rock concert or in any crowd it's most effective, otherwise you can starve yourself if you feed on it alone. It floats over people's heads so be sure not to aim wrong. If you're a beginner and can't feel where the energy is yet it should come with time and experience.
Surface feeding is feeding from the top layer/layers of the aura. It'll give you more prana than astral feeding will but you won't exhaust your donor.
Deep feeding will give you a lot more prana than the prior two. When you deep feed your tendrils go farther in, into the inner layers of the aura or into a chakra. You can exhaust your donor and even overdose.

There are other ways to feed of course, for example from words. You can feed from books and not even notice, or via email you can take from someone because words project energy. I have trouble feeding if my donor and I aren't holding conversation, and low dialogue won't give you much. Sometimes it can be watered down but heck it's still prana. When I didn't know I was a psyvamp (at about 10 years old) I fed mainly from books. Instinct will kick in if you don't know how to feed. Also music is a common source to feed from, especially if you really like the song(s).

Feeding: Sources (part 1)

There are lots of places you can get prana--or any other energy really, though I suggest you avoid negative energies as much as possible. I'm gonna start off with the obvious/basic things and go into further detail as I go.
The most obvious source of prana is people. Donors are helpful but be careful who you chose. If you tell the wrong person you're a psyvamp the results could be unpleasant.
On the other hand you can feed without telling a person. Like if someone hugs you you can take a little through the physical contact, or if you're at a rock concert you can just inhale the high-energy atmosphere.
Within the people option there are categories to chose from. The obvious ones are within the usual subculture labels, but then you're really chosing between indeviduals.
New Age people (ex. Indigos, Crystals, Rainbows, starchildren in general if you know about that sort of thing. If you don't you can check out my other blog, True Colors) are a good option, they're pretty open-minded and make good donors because they naturally emit positive energy. Nevertheless, be careful who you pick.
Normal people are harder to keep as donors. Often--especially if you're of opposite gender--they blur the line between feeding for romance or intimacy. Also they're more closed-minded, so even finding one is difficult.
I hate to stereotypically add a subculture as a donor option, but emos are excellent sources. Mind when I say "emo" I mean emotional person, someone with lacking self confidence and sometimes a nasty habit of cutting can identify them. I'm not saying they all do that, but keep an eye out. Even if they don't know you're a psyvamp you can still feed and rather than it being viewed as a negative attack it will be more pleasant to the person you're feeding from, they'll take it as attention and that you care about them.
Feeding from a partner/significant other can also be good, but don't overdo it. You don't want them to feel like they're being used.
Little bit of advice...Do not feed from a person who is feeling sick, has a negative emotion overcoming them, is elderly, or is a small child. That can be very bad for both you and your source.
The reason I say that is if the person is feeling sick you will both make yourself feel sick and weaken them. If they're feeling bad emotionally you could of course take that from them and make them feel better, but you will just take on the very feelings they were suffering from. The elderly...that's just an overall bad idea. Small children, or any children, don't have as much energy as it would seem and the last thing they need is to lose life energy. Unless you're a teenager and you're feeding from other teenagers just avoid that field ok?
Aside from humans you can feed from animals and plants, just nature in general. The earth has a lot of energy you can feed from without causing damage. I suggest not feeding from small animals for the same reason as children. Houseplants can be killed easily as well. So if you're one of those people wondering why they have a black thumb, you've got your answer.
Feeding from the elements is often used as a supplement. A lot of psy's enjoy feeding from rainstorms, I hear about it a lot. Fire is a good source but not something you can live off of. If you meditate in a field surrounded by nature and just focus on the energies around you, you can balance yourself and your energy field will feel revitalized, both to you and to others.
In part 2 I will give feeding techniques and hopefully it can help beginners get their bearings.

Miswordings and Negativity

I was looking at some Q&A's online, mostly on Yahoo.

It was one of the saddest displays of mis-read information being regurgitated and stuck-up-chip-on-the-shoulder-it's-not-real-prejudism I've ever seen online, and that is sayin' something believe me.

For example...
One poor soul asked if any vamps needed a donor. Firstly...wrong site to ask. Plenty of haters out there all too happy to rip you a new crapper. If there's someone who wants to be a donor go to a vamp site to ask, not a site so full of mundanes that if you were in a public place physically asking you'd be sent first to therapy, and then to an insane asylm if you held up in therapy. One guy went into a full scientific I'm-so-smart speech that was like 10 paragraphs long, no joke, denying the existance of vampires completely and so not answering the question. Others tried to explain the difference between psychic vampires and emotional vampires, some tried to explain that energy vamps aren't true vampires (as opposed to sanguine vampires). Anybody surprised the question wasn't answered?

I could write a book.

Sanguine vampires and psychic vampires need the same thing, we just have different means of getting it and different physical reactions to prana or lack thereof.
Psychic vampires aren't as acknowledged as sanguine vampires, and ironically we're more hated. Thanks a bunch, Twilight, for making people dilusionally fantasize over and become biased for sanuinarians. If you're one of those fighty-arguemental types takin' the sangs's side here's a little perspective for ya: So what we don't have a physical need for blood we can still suck the life outta you.
If you believe vamps don't exist in any shape or form, that's what you believe and you shouldn't try to shove what you feel is true down everyone else's throat. How would you feel if a Christian wouldn't quit trying to convert you, treating you like a poor mislead soul who's going to burn in hell if they don't take you to church? They believe what they believe solid as rock as do you. No one's gonna budge and so there's no point in trying to make them budge.

I'll edit this post later with better information but it's like 2:24 in the morning and my brain's slowing down so g'night all.

Help!

Ok I need some serious business help.
If anybody has any information on how to deal with being both a psyvamp AND a starchild at the same time without sacrificing the psyvamp part of me please let me know.
I've been trying to find info and I can't find any that isn't only about one or the other. The only time they overlapped was when I found a very short paragraph that mentioned indigo children/adults tend to have a disdain for psyvamps because of the damage we cause.

Little note on that, we can't exactly help that we have pranic imbalances and not all of us have malicious intent. And it's a bit odd for starchildren, who have a reputation for being so positive and empathetic, to have issues with someone who can't emit the positive energy they're so intent on spreading.

Poem

Some entertainment after the first four posts being a bit boring. I wrote it after I first found the glossary and you might have to use it quite a bit to understand the phrasings but nevertheless please comment and lemme know what you think!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They said it was clinical vampirism.
That it was nothing to worry about.
I was a gaja, simple role player.
Human and mundane, mortal like you all.
I didn't believe in hematophagy, only in bats and mosquitos.
I disrgarded my hemeralopia and haematomania.
But the hunger got stronger and became haematodipsia.
I didn't know I was a kitra or believe in my kindred.
Completely latent, a leech with no mentor.
I was unaware of those of the blood.
They thought I was one with porphyria.
I had no idea I was a seeker for myself.
I knew not of my home in the shadow.
Unbeknownst to me I'd befriended their black swans, all vampire bait.
I thought they were just lifestylers.
But now I'm a fledgeling and have experienced the embrace, I'm no ardetha.
The beacon called to me and the becoming began.
I learned the ways of the black veil.
I experienced the blood bond for the first time.
Now I'm among the vampyres, my brothers and sisters in blood lust.
Just a childe, barely coming out of the coffin.
The dayside was nothing to me, I live on the darkside now.
My little coven with one elder and his supporting black swans forming our golden circle.
I knew their energy signatures like my own, we ruled the night--even our kitra.
The incubus and succubus active in bloodplay, our house at peace.
We could make such a mess, psychologically high on their prana and physically high from their blood.
Not a single poser, each leech recognises the next.
Psychic attacks easy, sanguines falling in love with their donors.
Blood fetishists welcome, our blood bond strong in bloodletting.
Siring our sources, welcome to the nightside.
The thirst now manageable, peace now at twilight.
Vamp-outs rare, I'm in control.
No one excommunicated, each fledgling welcome.
Our haven perfect darkness.
What could go wrong?
Ask our slayers, ask our hunters.
Don't let me die this way...
Spill our blood, all that we stole, all that was given.
White feathers stained, they've become that which they seeked to destroy.
Who's the bloodthirsty leech now?
Bloody white swans, now you're black as our night and you can't go back.

Video and comments

(video TOTALLY not mine)

-------------------------------

Let me start with this: Not all psyvamps are bad. Speaking as one personally, I would know. You can take negative energy away from a person making them feel better. But I also know the other end of the story, two members of my family (both unknowingly) are psyvamps and I never talk to (with good reason--100% narcissist)one of them anymore while the other I love but just generally avoid out of self preservation--after all, I have my own energy imabalances to deal with. In addition, if you tell a vamp to stop being a vamp the most likely response you'll get from an awakened one will be a no and a latent one will give you the "WTF I'm not like that." face. There are Edward Cullen (excuse the Twilight referance) point-of-view vamps who'd be willing to adjust but most of us that I know of have accepted how we are and content to stay this way.

Intro (short)

Ok this post is just an intro for people who don't know what psychic vampires (or psyvamps--my favorite term, or psi vamps, or psi's or psy's, or psychic vampyres, whichever you prefer) are. We are people who have an energy imbalance. Other words for what we feed from are prana (what I normally use), chi, or life energy. In my next post I will have a glossary of terms and in the post after will be a (hopefully oft. edited--I'm open for suggestions) page with links for referances and or support pages, whatever is useful and relevant.
Please keep an open mind when reading and if you have a question or comment feel free to let me know.
Also keep in mind I myself am still learning and in no way consider myself an expert. Think of me more like an information collector and support for my fellow psyvamps out there.
